Our patient advocate worked with a patient who was originally referred to her from a hospital’s pulmonary team. She applied the patient to a free drug program, but sadly, she wasn’t eligible. She was due for a refill, so without missing a beat, our advocate applied to the HealthWell Foundation for Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
The patient was approved for $10,000 to be used for the cost of her medication. The following week, the patient followed up with our advocate thanking her for her help, as the medication had arrived on her doorstep over the weekend. She was so excited that the grant worked and had told her friends how lucky she was to be seen by her hospital. She said she didn't know how she would have done this without Atlas!
