One patient who began treatment for Breast Cancer lost her insurance and had to pick up private insurance with the hope that it would cover her drugs. Unfortunately, her chemo medication wasn’t covered under the new insurance. Her husband was worried and even advised her to stop treatment because they wouldn’t be able to afford it without help from insurance. Distraught, she broke down crying on the phone with her advocate – she didn’t know what to do.

Our advocate reassured her, telling her to keep her next appointment and that she would do everything possible to get both drugs at no cost to her. She ended up getting treatment the very next day after the call and was approved soon after for Genetech’s free drug program. 

The patient was beyond overjoyed to hear the news. “Thank you so much for genuinely caring and doing everything you can to help me. This is such a relief and takes so much worry off of me!” Our advocate is inspired helping patients just like her and touched by being able to make such a difference in their lives.
